My work contemplates themes of light, form, beauty and ruggedness through lens of the Chihuahuan Desert landscape, tracing threads of connectivity through the lay of the land. I am fascinated by the way that land holds the keys to our belonging—to the Earth and to each other. Through this active meditation, I hope to paint a more beautiful question that brings into focus our mutuality. For me, the rugged glory of the desert invokes a sense of kinship and awe, and invites increased awareness and appreciation for these often overlooked and undervalued ecological spaces.
